Here are some of my favorite new books. I’ve been reading a lot about animals as you can see.
Julia Gillian (and the art of knowing) by Alison McGhee, is about a dog who has a girl that is real smart. The dog’s name is Bigfoot. Julia knows everything and everyone, and every human who meets her likes her. I think it is because Bigfoot is so handsome! Sometimes Julia get a little scared, and she finds out there are lots of nice people who want to help make her life less scary.
Nico & Lola shows just how nifty it is for a dog to have a family. Lola and Nico are best friends. They talk together, play together, sleep together. They know what the other is thinking. I read this book almost every day after my second nap of the morning, and I smile.
